Job Details

We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join a national distribution facility in Walker, LA. Our client, in operation since 1979, specializes in wastewater and water management equipment distribution across the continental United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules, coordinating with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure timely execution of manufacturing orders.
  • Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and adjust procurement plans to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity, identify constraints, and develop feasible production plans. Optimize resource utilization by balancing workloads across production lines and shifts.
  • Order Management: Review and prioritize customer orders based on delivery requirements and production capacity. Communicate order status, lead times, and potential delays to sales teams and customer service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, streamline workflows, and reduce waste.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, cycle times, and schedule adherence. Analyze variances and implement corrective actions to ensure production targets are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
